Zegna Fabrics

Enzo Custom makes suits in selected Zegna fabrics, developed around your individual pattern and preferred silhouette. Compare the cloth’s weave, weight and surface before choosing: Trofeo and 15milmil15 describe different material selections, each with its own character.

Trofeo, 15milmil15 and fabric treatments

Zegna’s fabric vocabulary becomes useful when it explains the material. Trofeo wool is described by Zegna as superfine Australian Merino with long, elastic fibers. Its character also depends on the weave, weight and finish of the selected cloth.

The name 15milmil15 refers to wool described by Zegna at 15 microns. Use that fineness alongside weight and weave when comparing handle and wearing frequency. Our Super-number guide explains the difference between fiber fineness and whole-cloth performance.

Zegna’s Trofeo Elements provides a different example: a fabric paired with a membrane for water resistance in the brand’s outerwear. That treatment cannot be assumed for ordinary Trofeo suiting. Similar names can belong to materially different fabrics.

These are references from Zegna’s published fabric programs. Your clothier confirms the current Enzo selection, including the exact composition, finish and color available for your order.

Match the selection to your routine

A regular working suit needs to fit your rotation, climate and care habits. An occasional suit may place more emphasis on a particular surface or softness. Start with those requirements and then compare suitable Zegna selections in your hand.

What you noticeWhat to establish
A particularly soft handleFiber composition, fineness and intended wearing frequency
A clean, fluid drapeFabric weight, weave and the proposed construction
A sheen or subtle patternIts appearance across a larger area and beside your shirt
A performance-related collection nameThe specific treatment or structure of the selected cloth
A familiar name from an older garmentThe actual fabric reference and present availability

Cloth should be viewed at a scale that reflects a jacket front. A fine pattern may appear almost plain across the room, while a surface that seems quiet on a swatch may catch considerably more light in a finished garment.

Develop the individual pattern and construction

Enzo develops and makes the garment using your selected Zegna fabric. We create the individual pattern and record the design for your order. True Custom explains how measurements, posture and proportions guide that work.

The cloth is assessed alongside shoulder shape, lapel roll, chest support and the line of the trousers. Full canvas is standard for structured jackets; the appropriate build follows the intended garment. Inside Our Jackets explains the choices beneath the outer cloth.

The weight guide helps distinguish a light number on a label from a garment that will feel comfortable in its setting. Lining coverage and weave openness matter alongside the mass of the cloth.

Compare cloths against the same brief

Compare Zegna with suitable Loro Piana fabrics and the wider selection from our fabric partners. Keep the intended garment constant so the differences in surface, drape and price remain clear.

For an Enzo custom suit, we confirm the chosen material, specification, final price and timing before production. Seasonal availability can change. If you have a specific fabric in mind, bring its name or reference so your clothier can check the exact selection.

Questions and answers

Is an Enzo suit in Zegna cloth made by Zegna?

Enzo Custom makes the garment using your selected Zegna fabric.

Can I request a fabric from an older collection?

You can discuss it, and we will check current availability. Older named collections are not promised indefinitely.

Is all Zegna cloth intended for business suits?

Assess the exact fabric and intended garment. A brand name alone does not establish the appropriate use.

Can I compare Zegna with other fabrics?

Yes. Comparing suitable selections side by side helps clarify the surface, drape and price you prefer.
