Our Beverly Hills showroom sits on South Rodeo Drive, in a building whose neighbors include the most established luxury houses in American retail. The choice of address was deliberate. A custom tailoring house that operates in Los Angeles needs to be where the city's most discerning clients already shop, and Rodeo Drive remains the address that gathers those clients in one block.
Most suits do not fit. This is not a controversial claim if you watch men in suits with any attention. Lapels gap. Collars stand away from the neck. Trousers pull across the seat. Jackets pinch when arms are raised. Sleeves are too long, or too short, or hide the shirt cuff entirely. The list is long and the offenders are familiar.
A custom shirt is, in some ways, a more demanding garment than a custom suit. The shirt is closer to the body. The collar is in constant motion. The cuffs are in continuous use. The fit must accommodate seated and standing posture, raised arms and resting arms, the slight expansion of breathing and eating across the day. A shirt that fits at standstill but pulls on movement is a poorly built shirt.
Italian cloth has dominated the upper end of menswear for the better part of a century. The reasons are partly technical — the wool, the milling traditions, the climate of the Biellese region in northern Piedmont — and partly cultural. Italian houses spent the postwar decades pursuing softness, finer yarn counts, and the luminous hand that defines the modern luxury suit.

A sport coat is the most flexible garment in a man’s wardrobe. It is not a suit jacket. It is not a blazer in the strictest sense. It is the tailored upper garment a man wears when a suit would be too formal, when an overshirt would be too casual. The sport coat occupies the broadest middle ground in modern tailoring, and a wardrobe without one is missing its most useful piece.
Most of what distinguishes a finely made suit cannot be seen at a distance, and much of it cannot be seen at all. The Milanese buttonhole on the lapel, the silk pick stitch along the jacket edge, the working sleeve cuff with its four real buttons, the bar tack at the inside pocket — these are the hand-finished details that separate a garment built to be worn for years from one assembled to be sold. None of them announce themselves. All of them are felt, eventually, by the man wearing the jacket.
A summer suit is a different problem than a winter suit. It is not simply a winter suit in a lighter weight. The cloth, the construction, and the silhouette all change to address what summer actually does to the wearer — heat, humidity, sweat, the difficulty of carrying a structured garment through a season that punishes structure.
