Start with the invitation. A black-tie evening, an outdoor wedding reception and a dinner with no stated dress code call for different decisions. Bring the actual wording so your clothier can establish the formality before you choose cloth, lapels or accessories.

For a tuxedo, compare black and midnight blue with the lapel facing, shirt and bow tie. Assess the line from shoulder to waist, the trouser rise and the amount of shirt visible at the collar and cuffs. A pleasing jacket in isolation is only part of the decision: those proportions should agree when you wear everything together. A separate dinner jacket can give an existing formal wardrobe another expression. Bring the trousers and shirt it will accompany so their texture, color and proportions can be assessed in person. For wedding attire, give us the ceremony, reception and departure dates. If other members of the party are ordering, establish the shared cloth or color direction before arranging their individual appointments.

A working suit begins with the days you expect to wear it. A smooth navy or charcoal cloth can serve formal meetings and evening engagements; a more visible texture gives a separate jacket a different character. Discuss how much time you spend seated, how often you travel and whether you usually wear a tie. These are useful design decisions, not details to leave until collection.

With a separate jacket, bring the trousers and shirt you already wear. Shoulder shape, jacket length and button stance need to relate to their proportions. An unconstructed jacket may suit the softer appearance you want; a more defined shoulder gives a different outline. Our custom jacket guide explains the alternatives.

Custom shirts allow the collar, cuffs and body to work with those jackets. Mother-of-pearl shirt buttons are standard, and a split yoke is available. Trousers receive attention to rise, seat, leg line and the hand-set curtain waistband with a V-split detail. An overcoat is patterned for its own purpose, including the layers beneath it. Each garment carries a name label.

New clients are measured in the showroom. Over 30 measurements are combined with an assessment of posture, shoulder slope, asymmetry and arm pitch. Your clothier also checks front and back balance, button stance and the room you prefer for movement before an individual pattern is drafted from scratch for you and the garment category.

The constructed garment is then assessed on your body, usually through two to three fittings. Stand naturally, sit and move as you ordinarily would; a fitting should reveal how the garment behaves beyond a still pose. Confirmed adjustments are carried into your fit record for future orders. Full floating canvas is the standard for our structured jackets. It forms an internal foundation through the jacket front, supporting the chest, lapels and shape while allowing the outer cloth to drape naturally. We do not use fused jacket-front construction.

Half canvas is available where appropriate or requested, and unconstructed jackets offer a softer alternative. Full, partial or no lining is a separate decision: removing lining does not by itself make a jacket unconstructed. Enzo offers 10,000 fabrics across its collections, with sources including Loro Piana, Zegna, Dormeuil, Holland & Sherry, Scabal and Enzo Sartori. Your appointment narrows that range to the cloths relevant to your garment; it does not require choosing from every option.

Compare weight, weave, surface and the way a cloth falls. For an evening jacket, examine its appearance alongside the facing and trousers. For a suit worn indoors and while traveling, consider the conditions of the whole day. A high Super number describes wool fineness, not a complete assessment of suitability. These are starting prices for the garment categories. Your selected cloth and design establish the final price, which we confirm before production. A separate dinner jacket is quoted for its own specification.

Standard timing is three to four calendar weeks from a confirmed, paid order until the garment is ready for pickup or shipment. Imported or special cloth may take longer. Rush timing is approximately 18 calendar days, around two and a half weeks, only when confirmed for your order. Fittings and any final adjustments must be planned around the date you need to wear the garment; give us your travel date as well as your event date.

We stand behind every garment we make. If something isn’t right, your clothier will work with you to refine it through alterations. In the rare case that alterations aren’t enough, we’ll remake the garment. If you’re still not satisfied after we’ve worked to resolve your concerns, we’ll refund the affected garment.

Every custom garment we make is covered by our Fit Guarantee, with complimentary fit alterations for 60 calendar days after final pickup. The period begins when you collect the completed garment after its final fitting. Later alterations do not restart or extend the original 60-day period.
