Nick and Long guide your appointment. Bring a useful reference—a favorite jacket, a photograph or the invitation for an upcoming event—along with any dates affecting your order. The appointment begins by establishing what the garment needs to do for you.

When you wear a suit frequently, the working day is part of the fitting brief. Time spent seated, walking between appointments or traveling affects the room you need through the back, waist and seat. We assess how the collar meets the neck, how the jacket hangs and whether the trousers remain comfortable in movement.

A smooth navy or charcoal worsted can provide a foundation. If those are already covered, a stripe, check or different texture may add more than another nearly identical suit. Proportion is settled with the complete outfit in mind. Jacket length, lapel width, button stance and trouser rise should relate to one another. Bring the shirts and shoes you expect to wear so those relationships can be assessed directly.

We take more than 30 measurements in the showroom and assess posture, shoulder slope, asymmetry and arm pitch. An individual pattern is drafted from scratch for you and the garment category, accounting for the way you stand and move as well as your dimensions.

We then fit the constructed garment and refine it, usually through two to three fittings. This is where Nick and Long can assess balance, sleeve position, ease and the trouser line on your body. Full floating canvas is the standard for our structured jackets. The internal canvas supports the chest and lapels while allowing the outer cloth to drape. We do not use fused jacket-front construction. The result should be assessed through the shape and feel of the selected jacket, rather than a construction label alone.

Half canvas is available where appropriate or requested, alongside unconstructed options for a softer garment. Full, partial or no lining is a separate decision from the internal structure. The useful question is which particular cloth suits your garment, wearing frequency and preferences; availability is confirmed for your selection.

Compare a smooth worsted with a softer flannel when building a cooler-weather wardrobe. For warmer conditions, examine the openness of the weave as well as the weight. A wedding party needs a shared visual direction, followed by individual measurements. Start with the dress code, cloth and color, then settle which details distinguish the groom. A common fabric does not require every wearer to have identical jacket proportions, trouser rise or fit.

Share the ceremony, reception and any travel dates early. Standard production timing is three to four calendar weeks from a confirmed, paid order until ready for pickup or shipment; imported or special cloth may take longer. Fittings and possible refinements need room in the plan, so that estimate should not be treated as a guaranteed final-fitting date.

A sport coat can bring texture into a wardrobe built around suits. Pair it with trousers chosen for a clear difference in color or surface. Custom trousers include a hand-set curtain waistband and V-split detail, while the rise, leg shape and hem treatment are settled around your preference and intended shoes.

Custom shirts let the collar and cuff work with your jackets; mother-of-pearl buttons are standard. For an overcoat, bring the suit jacket and any substantial knitwear you intend to wear beneath it. The coat needs room at the shoulders, upper arms and closure while preserving its own line.
