Bring the shoes and shirt you intend to wear, along with the invitation if there is a dress code. Their colors and proportions help establish the outfit before the smaller details are chosen.

Begin with where you spend your day. A suit worn mostly indoors needs a different balance from one worn through an outdoor ceremony. Tell Cody about the setting, time of day and level of formality. A navy cloth may support several working and evening occasions; a paler color may fit the brief for a particular daytime event.

Compare an open-weave wool with linen rather than selecting on fiber content alone. Linen brings a relaxed surface and visible creasing; the wool’s weave, weight and drape determine its own character. For an office suit, pay particular attention to comfort while seated and the way the collar and jacket front sit. When the jacket comes off, the shirt and trousers should still feel proportionate. The best brief is a description of your day, including how often the suit will be worn.

Enzo offers 10,000 fabrics across its collections, with sources including Loro Piana, Zegna, Solbiati, Dormeuil, Scabal and Enzo Sartori. Cody can narrow the selection by occasion, weight, weave and the surface you prefer. Cloth should be handled and assessed in relation to the whole garment.

A fabric name or a high Super number is not a substitute for that discussion. Consider how the cloth hangs, how formal it looks and the conditions in which you will wear it. New-client measurements take place in the showroom. Cody takes over 30 measurements and assesses posture, shoulder slope, asymmetry and arm pitch. Front and back balance, the position of the button and the ease you prefer help determine how the jacket will sit and move.

An individual pattern is drafted from scratch for you and the garment category. After construction, the garment is usually refined through two to three fittings. Your records are retained for later orders and reviewed when your body, cloth choice or preferences change. Our process explains the stages and why measurement includes more than a set of numbers.

Full floating canvas is the standard for Enzo’s structured jackets. The canvas supports the chest and lapels beneath the cloth and allows the exterior to drape naturally. We do not use fused jacket-front construction. Cody can explain how this foundation works with the shoulder and shape you want.

Half canvas is available where appropriate or requested, and an unconstructed jacket provides a softer alternative. Full, partial or no lining is a separate choice; an unlined jacket is not automatically unconstructed. Discuss the structure and lining together when planning for warmer conditions. For black tie, choose the tuxedo as a complete outfit. Compare black and midnight blue with the intended lapel facing, then assess the shirt front, trouser rise and waist coverage. A separate dinner jacket offers another direction when the invitation permits it. Bring formal trousers and accessories you already own so Cody can check the combination.

For a wedding, share the ceremony and reception settings as well as the dress code. Coordinate the groom and wedding party through appropriate cloth and details, while allowing individual patterns to address each person’s proportions. Confirm where everyone can attend measurements and fittings before appointments are booked.

For a destination wedding, the departure date matters as much as the ceremony date. Discuss when you can return for fittings and how the finished clothing will travel. The plan should give you time to assess the outfit with the shoes and shirt you will wear.

A separate jacket can work with trousers already in your wardrobe. Compare texture and contrast, then decide how much shoulder definition fits the way you dress. Bring the pieces you intend to pair with it so length and ease can be assessed together.

For custom shirts, Cody can help establish collar height, cuff style and room through the body and sleeves. Mother-of-pearl buttons are standard, and a split yoke is available. Custom trousers address rise, seat and leg line, with a hand-set curtain waistband and V-split detail. Overcoats are patterned for their own purpose and fitted over the layers beneath them, useful when your travel wardrobe needs to cover different conditions.
